Coaching Experience

I have over 10 years of coaching experience across all ages and all levels. Most of my experience is with private and small group training, but I have also been the Head Coach for Freshman and JV teams (Bonita HS) and an Assistant Coach for a Varsity Team (Capital Christian, Sacramento). I also have experience coaching with kids camps, and coached full-time for multiple years at an athletic academy.

Through all of this, I have experience ranging from kids that have never played soccer before and helping them make their first club team, all the way to elite youth players and helping them make a college team.

Additionally, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Azusa Pacific University, which gives me even more insight into the sports science of soccer.

Athletic Highlights

I played professionally for the last 4 years across Spain, Andorra, and the USA. I played in the 1st division in Andorra (Europe) and also the MASL (1st division of indoor soccer here in America).

Before that, I played college soccer where I graduated from Azusa Pacific University. I also have played in a variety of semi-pro teams in the UPSL, NPSL, and USL 2. As a youth player, I grew up playing competitive soccer on a small team in Sacramento.

Unfortunately, during a professional match in 2022 I suffered a broken tibia, broken fibula, and ruptured artery in my leg. Since then, I have made a near full recovery - but have transitioned away from playing and focused more on coaching.

Session Plan

My sessions are designed to have the athlete work hard, and have fun. I will take into account the athletes position and skill level, but we will spend most of the time working on the athletes weaknesses. For example, if an athlete is really good at dribbling, but not very good at shooting, we will likely spend a little more time shooting than we do dribbling.

Either way, soccer is a dynamic sport that requires a variety of different skills to master (i.e. dribbling, shooting, passing, control, volleys, speed, reactions, positioning, etc) so there will always be something that we can add to keep the sessions challenging for the player. I try to make the sessions as game realistic as possible, so that they are prepared to take the skills that they learn with me into real game situations.

Most importantly, the number one focus is that the athlete is having fun. As a coach, it is important that the athlete is enjoying the process (and enjoying the hard work) rather than getting burnt out. Therefore, the athlete will always get the most out of my sessions, because they will be enjoying the process, and definitely seeing progress.
